 Dear Friends:
A recent Gospel told us that when Andrew and a friend became curious about Jesus and went out to discover more, they immediately recognized Him as someone with Divine Wisdom, someone from whom they could truly learn. According to St. John, they called him Rabbi which means teacher. They began to follow him from that moment, recruiting others as well.
It is fitting that we are reminded of Jesus as the Great Teacher, when we think about our Catholic School. We recognize that our parish Catholic school teaches more than the 3 R’s,reading writing and arithmetic, but integrates the fourth R – Religion. Our Lady of Consolation Academy teaches religion, not simply as another subject to be learned but the Gospel – the word of God – to be lived. Education at the Academy is infused with Character, Compassion and Values. It is an education that resounds with the love of God.
This year marks a significant transition for all parishioners. We have been called to be stewards of our gifts – to nurture our most precious gifts, our children in the light of faith. Making every effort to understand the true meaning of stewardship and live accordingly means to give serious consideration to the education we give to our children. This year every active parishioner has the opportunity to choose Catholic education at Our Lady of Consolation Parish School for their child.
